While I love to check-out almost every possible writing tool, on the long run a few only make it into the daily workflow. Thus I was admittedly skeptical when I saw yet another – with even the presumptuous mark as One-Note replacement and for this price. After some reluctance and learning curve I finally tried it for preparing complex courses and for note-taking in meetings. I was surprised to find how playfully easy it is to integrate lots of different material, thoughts, lists, tables in a free-style arrangement on the pages. Much like really writing on paper or organize stuff on my desktop. Even with colorful graphic embellishment like arrows and circles. After three months of steady use, now I see: ▶︎ Good? – This is a one of it’s kind hybrid writing and organizing tool which is perfect for all my initial note-taking, brainstorming and integration of multiple source stuff. ●Especially I like the instant free-style Tables and lists which can be converted back and for with one-command. ● I had to assign keyboard-shortcuts to all frequently used commands to make it a smooth experience. ●Even for aesthetics it remains a fresh in color joyful experience day by day. ●And what I do with it could not be achieved with any of my many other tools. ▶︎ Better? – It is, however, not replacing the other specialists either. I probably wouldn’t try writing an entire book or essay with it; nor long-term storing my entire life’s notes and resources. I prefer others for complex mind mapping, data mining, storage, sheer writing and layout. ▶︎ Reliable? – So far I never lost data. But I take precaution. Like with all my apps I use ForeverSave2 to take regular snapshots, additionally to TimeMaschine backups. ▶︎ Fun? – Daily. All said, doing so much for this price. Amazing. I wish it a long life.
